"...and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us."--(Heb 12:1b)
This past weekend, May 14-15, both Regina and Jamie set out to reach new goals. On Saturday, Regina participated in the Warrior Dash in Mountain City, Georgia, which is a 3.2 mile overall course that consists of a 2 mile run and 1+ mile obstacle course. The obstacles include crawling on the ground under barbed wire, straining through water and mud, climbing over 20 foot walls and running through fire. Not for the faint of heart. This comes after she ran her first half-marathon in Chicago last August and completed a second here in Atlanta in March.
On Sunday, Jamie completed her first Iron Girl triathlon. Starting at 7:15am, she hit the waters of Lake Lanier for a 600m swim, climbed out on the beach, up the hill to grab her bike for an 18 mile ride around the scenic hills of Buford, Georgia. Once completing that, she continued on for a 5k run, finishing strong in just under 3 hours. What made the experience even more challenging was Jamie completed this race on one of the coldest days in May Georgia has seen in years and all the while fighting off Bronchitis...determination is required for success!
Both will continue their training and strive to improve their individual performance.

The program is slated to be officially up and running in February 2011, according to the SBA. More to follow...
